This year the Lyons-Decatur Northeast drama students will perform "Good-bye to the Clown" by Ernest Kinoy for their one-act play competition. The play tells the story of Peggy, a nine year old girl, who is in trouble at school because she seems unable to distinguish between her imagination and reality. She blames her difficult behavior on a "Clown," an imaginary playmate. At home Peggy's mother becomes very upset at Peggy's insistence on the reality of the Clown, which the audience sees along with Peggy. Eventually, it is revealed why Peggy has a Clown as she deals with her painful reality. Cast members are: Tia Messier, Jimmy Simpson, Corey Friedli, Steele Valenzuela, Sariah Harlan, Danielle King, Brittney Doht, Megan Masloka, and Cassie Ziemann. As members of the crew, Katelyn Worley and Courtney Beacom will help to bring these characters to life.
