Class Description: The English 12 curriculum strives for student proficiency in speaking and listening, reading and analyzing, writing, and conducting research. Literature is selected for its excellence and also for its appeal to students as individuals with differing abilities and interests. Classroom activities help students understand and appreciate the elements of literature so that they may incorporate these elements into their own writing.

Grades: I don't give grades - you earn them. Grades will be earned according to total points for the quarter. Tests and quizzes will be 60% of your total grade, homework 30% and daily standardized tests 10%. If a semester test is necessary it will count 10% of your semester grade. If you have a question or problem with a grade or anything that happened in class please discuss it with me after class and we will work together to solve the situation.
Plagiarism: Plagiarism is a serious offense and a form of theft. It is defined as taking words, phrasing, sentence structure, or any other element of the expression of another person's ideas, and using them as if they were your own. Plagiarism is a violation of another person's rights and has serious consequences. Any act of plagiarism will result in an automatic zero on the assignment. On page 61 of NHS Student Handbook, section 7.36 Honesty, also includes cheating on a test or other class work could lead to being dropped from the class.
